Forged in Breath - Reclaiming the Iron Saddle

After a solid bout of pneumonia, today was my first ride back in nearly two months.
RIDE 38 - "Breathe" couldn't have been a more fitting launch.
What you realise after time away isn't how much fitness you lost... it's how much you took breathing for granted.

Every controlled inhale on the warm-up, every steady exhale on the climbs - that's where performance actually starts.
Not in watts. Not in speed. In respiration, rhythm and patience.
The tracks hit perfectly - deep beats, rolling efforts and a few proper leg-thumping climbs - but the real win wasn't the numbers on the screen.
It was showing up again.
As a coach, we talk a lot about progression, overload and performance. But real training begins with re-entry.
Consistency beats intensity. Control beats ego. And resilience isn't pushing harder - it's knowing when to rebuild.
Today wasn't about proving fitness.
It was about reclaiming the process.
RIDE 38 - "Breathe" is exactly what a session should be: purposeful, structured and human.
We don't just train bodies - we train behaviors, habits and mindset.
If you've been off the bike, injured, sick or just lost momentum - start where you are. The comeback isn't a moment. It's a series of small, deliberate sessions done well.
We build riders by teaching them to breathe first...
Performance follows.
If this lands, pass it on. Someone in your room probably needs it.
