As we roll out RIDE 38 – Breathe, here’s a clear breakdown of how it differs from R37 and what that means in class.
R37 (“Miracle”) sat in a punch profile - RIDE Release 38 (“Breathe”) moves toward sustained load and longer Hard efforts. It’s steadier, more deliberate, and built around threshold work and climbing strength.
We are adding depth to the programming mix.
Performance Snapshot
Duration
RIDE 38: 48:15 vs RIDE 37: 45:40
R38 runs longer.
Total Work (Revolutions)
RIDE 38: 3,626revs vs RIDE 37: 3,522revs
R38 produces slightly more total work.
Average RPM
RIDE 38: 75rpm vs RIDE 37: 77pm
R38 runs marginally slower overall, but under heavier sustained load.
Effort Distribution
RIDE 38 vs RIDE 37
Hard / Very Hard / All Out: 35.5% vs 27.6%
Moderate: 12.0% vs 19%
Recovery (SRC): 47.0% vs 44.1%
-
RIDE 38 spends more time in sustained Hard work.
-
Moderate “tempo” time is reduced.
-
Recovery is slightly increased to support longer load blocks.
-
All Out peaks are less frequent but are sustained longer.
RIDE 38 feels heavier and more continuous & deliberate, with more options for change of intensity - be it position, pace or pressure.
In Practice RIDE 38 builds threshold Strength and Climbing Endurance.
RIDE 38 carries more transitions, so timing and cue clarity matter. The work blocks are longer. Riders will need steady leadership through those sustained phases.
When you launch RIDE 38, let the structure do the work. Don’t rush it, don’t oversell the Peaks. Hold the load and manage the room towards their best.
Let RIDE 38 compliment their Summer training with every pedal.
